Job SummaryThe RN Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develop a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and interprofessional team.
- Plan for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrate clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and perform all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific.
- Identify ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction.
- Contribute to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians.
- Provide consultation and maintain positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care.
- Demonstrate, anticipate, and proactively manage risk to prevent crises. Perform skillfully in life-threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crisis situations.
- Current Wisconsin RN Licensure
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years. Associate's Degree in Nursing accepted in lieu of BSN for those hired prior to 1/23/17.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Additional certifications may be required based on department and location.
The RN Clinical Nurse will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and effectively with patients and colleagues, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
This is a full-time position with a scheduled weekly hours of 32 and a scheduled FTE of 0.8. The location of this position is ThedaCare Medical Center - New London in New London, Wisconsin.
