Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to contribute to our dynamic school-based team in Spanaway, WA.
The SLPA will play a vital role in supporting the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in delivering exceptional therapeutic services to students with diverse speech, language, and communication needs. Our goal is to empower these students to reach their full academic and social potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the SLP in conducting comprehensive speech, language, and hearing screenings.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and engaging therapy activities designed by the SLP.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, either individually or in small groups, under the guidance of the SLP.
- Meticulously document student progress and maintain accurate records of therapy sessions.
- Prepare and organize materials essential for therapy sessions as directed by the SLP.
- Assist with classroom activities that directly support students' speech and language goals.
- Foster effective communication with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure student success.
- Actively participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Ensure strict adherence to school district policies and state regulations governing speech-language pathology services.
- Possess an Associate's degree from a program accredited in Speech-Language Pathology Assistance or equivalent.
- Hold a valid SLPA license or certification in the state of Washington.
- Prior experience working within a school setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
- Exhibit the ability to work effectively under the supervision of an SLP and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
