Are you a skilled microbiologist looking for a challenging role in laboratory research? Arkansas Government Job is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Laboratory Microbiologist. In this position, you will be responsible for conducting various microbiological tests, analyzing results, and recording data.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbiology, excellent laboratory skills, and experience working with a range of microbiological techniques. You will also be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with colleagues and provide clear instructions and training to junior staff members.
We are offering a competitive salary of $46,275 - $73,934 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. This includes annual leave, sick leave, and other benefits as per the Arkansas State Government's employee handbook.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct various microbiological tests, including conventional and real-time PCR
- Analyze test results and record data accurately and efficiently
- Prepare samples for testing, conduct quality control checks, and maintain laboratory equipment
- Develop and implement new laboratory methodologies, update procedure manuals, and evaluate media, reagents, and standards
- Serve as a group leader, resolving technical problems, and performing all functions of other laboratory workers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology or a related field
- Two years of experience in laboratory analysis or a related field
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and quality control procedures
- Ability to assign and coordinate work activities, monitor performance, and provide training and guidance to junior staff members
