Metal Grinding Specialist

This position is responsible for setting up and operating grinding machines to grind internal and external cylindrical or tapered surfaces of metal pieces.

• Grind external or internal cylindrical tapered surfaces.
• Remove metal by applying abrasives bonded to form a rotating wheel.
• Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces.
• Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints.
• Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.
• Complete labor tracking requirements and scan workorders to track labor and part quantities.
• Collect and assemble required products.
• Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.
• Perform other tasks assigned by Supervisor.

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least 5 years of Metal Grinding experience.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Advanced math skills.
• Must be able to physically lift 35 lbs.
