Perinatal Sonographer

Job Summary:

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a skilled Perinatal Ultrasonographer to join our team. As a Perinatal Ultrasonographer, you will perform ultrasound procedures to evaluate fetal development in multiple and high-risk pregnancies.

Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound procedures to evaluate fetal development
• Monitor and evaluate exam quality and procedures
• Check and complete patient name bands, physician orders, consent forms, and prescriptions
• Follow department/hospital infection control guidelines
• Explain procedure to patient prior to exam
• Assure physical and psychological patient needs are met
• Initiate proper response to emergent situations
• Maintain patient medical devices (IV's, catheters, tubes, monitors, oxygen, etc.)

Requirements:

• Completion of appropriate educational program
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association
• Meets the licensure requirement for specialty (ARDMS Qualified)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fetal Echo Certification is highly desirable

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The Perinatal Ultrasonographer must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
