Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Laborer to join our team in the telecommunications construction industry. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for completing general labor duties related to telecommunications construction, including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types and sizes of construction materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform digging and excavation tasks using hand shovels and mechanical tools
  • Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
  • Climb in and out of equipment, including trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, and other heavy machinery
  • Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
  • Work in congested or remote areas, maintaining visual and audible contact with other crew members and moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
  • Perform general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor
  • Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be authorized to work in the United States for this company
  • Have a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Have basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
  • Have basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
  • Have experience in the utility construction industry (optional)
  • Be able to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities (optional)
  • Be able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and other stakeholders
  • Be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
  • Be able to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
  • Be able to maintain a safe work environment
  • Be able to work in all weather conditions
