At Houston Methodist, the Patient Experience Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the patient journey by managing check-in and check-out processes as well as scheduling appointments to ensure a seamless visit. This position is integral in supporting accurate claims processing and may involve registration and other revenue cycle responsibilities. Additional tasks include providing operational support and addressing patient service needs specific to the department's focus.
Key Responsibilities:
TEAM COLLABORATIONFosters a positive workplace atmosphere and contributes to a collaborative, team-oriented environment that encourages mutual support to achieve departmental goals. Engages with all members of the healthcare team by effectively communicating and sharing relevant patient care information. Executes patient check-in and check-out duties, ensuring accurate scheduling and registration data to facilitate financial clearance. Manages patient flow with consistency and expertise, promptly addressing any issues that may lead to service delays or denials. SERVICE EXCELLENCE
Utilizes strong communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written) to deliver exceptional service during interactions with patients, physicians, and staff. Aims to enhance satisfaction for patients, employees, and physicians while contributing to an effective revenue cycle. Prepares reports and assists with departmental correspondence, providing additional administrative support as needed. QUALITY AND SAFETY
Addresses patient access and service quality issues through effective communication, maintaining open channels with physicians and service areas. Inputs patient and operational data into various systems with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. Ensures confidentiality and compliance with regulations while conveying patient information to relevant parties. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately documents information during tasks such as charge entry, registration, and insurance verification to meet financial objectives. Manages time efficiently, prioritizing tasks and assisting team members as necessary. Utilizes departmental resources effectively and participates in inventory management to maintain adequate supply levels. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Proposes innovative ideas to enhance service quality. Qualifications:
EDUCATIONHigh School diploma or equivalent. WORK EXPERIENCE
