Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Oncology Dosimetrist to join our team at Holy Name Hospital. As a key member of our Radiation Therapy planning team, you will work closely with Radiation Oncologists and Medical Physicists to generate treatment planning techniques and radiation dose distributions.

• Follows the dose prescription given by the Radiation Oncologist and assists in contouring critical structures
• Plans a treatment technique using the Eclipse treatment planning computer to deliver a high radiation dose to tumor volume while protecting sensitive structures around it
• Verifies and reviews radiology reports with Radiation Oncologists
• Collaborates with therapists in the simulation and CT simulation processes
• Verifies the accurate input of patient information into the ARIA information system
• Assists in preparation of molds, casts, and other immobilization devices
• Assists technical staff in implementation of treatment plan
• Performs annual quality assurance on treatment planning computer
• Observes and practices radiation safety procedures for patients and personnel

• Bachelor's Degree in physical or biological sciences with on-the-job training in dosimetry for 12 months
• 1-3 years of practical supervised experience in radiation dosimetry
• 1-3 years of clinical experience as a therapist
• RAD THER - Radiation Therapist, Registered or a certified medical dosimetrist
