Job Title: Automation Systems Specialist

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join our client's team on a permanent basis. Located in Lafayette, IN, this role will involve designing and implementing automation systems that drive business growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
* Developing control system architecture, flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), control sequences, and design specifications.
* Analyzing risks and hazards, conducting risk analyses, and creating responsibility matrices, instrument indexes, bills of material (BOMs) and other project tools.
* Programming and integrating Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) from leading manufacturers such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, and Wago.
* Designing, setting up, and performing system functionality tests on equipment in our manufacturing facility and at customer sites.
* Developing wire pull schedules and scope of work documents for contractors to use in bidding and construction.
* Performing onsite startup and validation of equipment, conducting I/O checkout and troubleshooting, calibrating instrumentation, and tuning PID loops.
* Validating programming to confirm systems operate per control sequences.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in designing/building/programming PLC systems with field experience from design to start-up.
* Strong knowledge of ladder logic programming and experience with engine test cell instrumentation & control design, integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
* Ability to interpret and create Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
* Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills, with ability to provide efficient and effective client service.
* Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and proficiency in working under pressure to meet deadlines.

Salary and Benefits:
The successful candidate can expect a salary range of $110,000 - $125,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
