Job Description

Procyon TS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Appian BPM Architect to lead the design and implementation of our enterprise-wide Business Process Management (BPM) solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership on projects, including enterprise application architecture, design review, technical mentorship, performance testing, scaling, and industry-specific knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact with customers to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical design and implementation.
  • Technical Solutions: Produce detailed technical solutions with narrative for proposal development and support key personnel requirements during procurement phases.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of the client enterprise while leading large, multi-year program initiatives.
  • Strategy and Roadmap: Produce vision and strategy collateral, and create roadmaps to lead modernization efforts.
  • Technical Oversight: Serve as one of the primary technological points of contact in the organization, responsible for guidance and overarching technical oversight, governance, architecture alignment, and construction efforts.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface diagrams, and design best practices.
  • Meetings and Facilitation: Facilitate meetings with client and internal technical and operational teams.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance to team members and help solve technical challenges and remove roadblocks.
Requirements:
  • Certified Level 2 Appian Developer
  • 5+ years of experience in IT with responsibilities in technical architecture, application development, business process management, and/or enterprise application integration (SOA) with Appian or other BPM tools.
  • 3+ years of experience in defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations, leveraging different architectural views.
  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise application integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures.
  • 4+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business critical applications following Agile methodologies.
  • 3+ years of business architecture experience, including identifying and decomposing business capabilities.
  • 4+ years of business process modeling and optimization experience.
  • 4+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Appian plugins.
  • 4+ years of experience in the design and implementation of SOAP and REST Web Services.
  • 4+ years of working knowledge of application servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS, Tomcat.
  • 4+ years of experience in configuring, debugging, and systems integration, including configuring forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components.
  • 4+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL scripting, with Oracle databases preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Appian Tempo.
  • Public Trust clearance required.

Desired Experience:

  • Certified Level 3 Appian Developer
  • Previous expertise in the role of an architect, responsible for defining the solution architecture on large complex business critical n-tier client/server initiatives.
  • Exposure to common industry platforms and programming languages, including Appian BPM, IBM WebSphere, Mule, LAMP/JBOSS, HADOOP, Java, Microsoft/.Net.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science or other related field.
  • Experience working with Appian Sites.
  • Java developer with Maven builds experience is a strong plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile Framework.
  • Orchestration of modeled process through a Workflow application.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented techniques.
  • Ability to understand the long-term and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Ability to work with users to gather and refine requirements.
