Main Responsibilities:

The Offshore Superintendent oversees and coordinates all assigned project management functions, ensuring seamless communication between company and customer representatives, on-site inspectors, and project stakeholders. This includes directing project scheduling and yard operations, communicating project status with management, and ensuring timely completion of assigned projects within allotted periods and profit projections.

Key Functions:

  • Review project contracts to ensure a thorough understanding of job specifications, material requirements, completion dates, and other critical details.
  • Coordinate and direct project activities with operational personnel to prevent delays, cost overruns, and fabrication errors.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, on-site customer inspectors, and management to ensure open communication regarding customer concerns, complaints, change orders, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist clients in developing work packs, associated budgets, and execution sequences.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager regarding material delivery scheduling, specifications, origins, and costs to ensure coordination of operational functions and timely receipt of materials.
  • Review and approve work schedules for assigned projects, material requisitions, percent completed schedules/reports, and requests from operations regarding specification requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers for production planning, scheduling, budgets, and progress.
  • Assist offshore management in developing schedules and maintaining schedules once offshore.
  • Lead large quantities of personnel and third-party contractors as a cohesive team.
  • Establish tracking criteria for key personnel and develop a tracking form for such tracking.
  • Maintain positive customer relations, facilitating two-way communication between management and the customer.
  • Ensure material and equipment needs are properly planned and staged in advance to ensure an efficient workflow.
  • Review schedule, budgets, and work order reports to provide feedback on project progress.
  • Lead safety initiatives and be knowledgeable about all company policies and procedures.
  • Foster communication, planning, and personal accountability among foremen, leader men, and craft personnel.
  • Ensure proper completion of JSA's and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Capable of pulling measurements and drawing/making drawings on ISO paper.

Job Requirements:

  • General understanding of OSHA/BSEE regulations for the construction/offshore industry
  • Good working knowledge of computers and software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Valid TWIC card

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:

  • 2+ years experience in leading an offshore crew
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus

Tools, Equipment, and Technology:

  • Microsoft Office Suite

Environmental Conditions:

80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (paint, paint thinners, diesel or gas, etc.)
