The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide exceptional venipuncture services and clinical support to our patients. You will work closely with our diverse team of providers and administrative assistants to ensure seamless care delivery.

As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality venipuncture services to patients of all ages
  • Performing and assisting with extended scope duties, such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  • Maintaining high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
  • Continuing to care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties
  • Mastery of our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and our Electronic Medical Record System, 1Life
What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An active phlebotomy certification to practice in CA
  • At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus)
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
  • A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks
  • Experience with extended scope care, including non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs (preferred)

Competitive Salary

The base hourly range for this role is $25.25 to $27.25 per hour, based on a standard full-time schedule. Total compensation packages may be based on factors unique to particular candidates, such as skill sets, depth of experience, and work location.
