Job Summary

This position is accountable for the direct care of patients pre-operatively, participating in performance improvement activities to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates nursing care requirements with the OR and anesthesia departments to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Prepares patients physically, mentally, and emotionally for surgical procedures.
  • Prepares, hangs, monitors, and discontinues IV fluids.
  • Reports changes in patient arrival time to surgeons.
  • Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited registered nursing program.
  • Two years of acute care experience preferred.
  • Current California Registered Nursing License.
  • ACLS Certificate required.
  • BLS Certificate Certified.
  • Perianesthesia Nurse certification (CPAN) preferred.
