We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Director to lead our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team in Alamance County, NC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our GIS infrastructure, developing and implementing GIS projects, and providing technical guidance and support to our staff.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain our GIS infrastructure, including data management, mapping, and spatial analysis.
- Develop and implement GIS projects, including data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Provide technical guidance and support to our staff on GIS-related matters.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to integrate GIS into our operations and decision-making processes.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in GIS and apply this knowledge to improve our GIS capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or related field.
- Seven years of progressively responsible experience in GIS system design, programming, and/or mapping.
- Advanced ESRI software knowledge and experience.
- Preferred GIS certification.
This position requires a valid NC driver's license and may involve driving for county business. The employee must be able to work in a standard office environment and occasionally telework.
