Job Role
The Radiological Technologist plays a crucial role in diagnostic imaging, applying the art and skill of imaging using ionizing radiation in a safe and effective manner.
Main Responsibilities
- Clinical History: Obtain patient clinical history and relevant lab work, documenting information for licensed practitioners.
- Patient Positioning: Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate anatomical areas, respecting patient comfort and ability.
- Radiation Protection: Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Procedure Performance: Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories, ensuring successful outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
- Certifications: Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required).
- State Licensure: State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed).
- Training: EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred), Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred).
