Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Housekeeper to join our team at Liberty Bay Recovery Center in Portland, ME. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our residential facilities, ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare bedrooms for new admissions, including dressing beds with clean sheets and comforter, vacuuming the carpet, and cleaning all hard surfaces.
  • Vacuum all hallway and common area carpets.
  • Assist the kitchen with washing, drying, and putting away dishes.
  • Tidy up the dining area after meal times, including wiping all tables and chairs, pushing in chairs, sweeping and mopping the floor, and emptying trashes.
  • Keep the housekeeping cart organized and stocked.
  • Deep clean all bathrooms, including mopping floors, cleaning all countertops, wiping mirrors and fixtures, sanitizing shower stalls, and stocking bathrooms with towels.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the day rooms, including removing any dishes or trash, folding and putting away blankets, straightening pillows, and sanitizing hard surfaces.
  • Assist medical staff with laundry.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and interact with them in an appropriate manner.
  • Assist medical or kitchen staff with any other related tasks.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass State of Maine criminal background and driving record checks.
  • Prior cleaning/housekeeping experience a plus.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Ability to follow and complete a task list on a daily basis.
  • Basic knowledge of household cleaning products and how to use them.
  • Good communication skills.
