Job Summary

The Computed Tomography (CT)/Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist is a highly skilled professional responsible for operating specialized computerized x-ray equipment and magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports and models behaviors consistent with GMC's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct, and service expectations.
  • Identifies self, greets patients, checks physician orders, verifies patient identity, explains examinations, positions patients, and performs procedures according to established protocols.
  • Prepares and operates CT and MRI equipment safely and effectively.
  • Positions patients for MRI scans using immobilization and protective equipment to ensure patient safety and comply with government regulations.
  • Screens patients for MRI safety prior to procedures.
  • Administers contrast media as directed and per protocol.
  • Assists radiologists with procedure performance.
  • Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality, collates processed images, and labels them appropriately.
  • Assists with scheduling patients and performs clerical functions as needed.
  • Loads and operates power injectors for contrast media administration.
  • Reports any unusual concerns, situations, or conditions to the Imaging Manager.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and assists with stocking and cleaning rooms daily.
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance studies.
  • Assists with administrative functions and enforces radiation safety principles.

Requirements:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification required.
  • MT State License required.
  • CT/MR Registries preferred but not required.
  • CT experience required.
  • MRI experience preferred.
  • BLS certification recommended.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Physical strength and agility to position patients for diagnostic examinations.
