Company Overview

Palm Venture Studios, a Greenwich, CT-based single-family office and asset manager, seeks an experienced Corporate Lawyer to support its team and portfolio of companies. With a focus on asymmetric returns through distressed investments, we leverage our collective strengths and resources to unlock the full potential of our partners.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead our legal function, working closely with the investment team, management teams, and external advisors on all aspects of the investment lifecycle. Responsibilities include deal diligence, creative deal structuring, document drafting, negotiations, and review of financing considerations. In addition to investment-related tasks, the lawyer will oversee general corporate, employment, IP, and governance matters for Palm Ventures and provide similar support to portfolio companies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of corporate transactional experience working at a fund or law firm that partners with early-stage technology founders.
  • Familiarity with general legal needs of early-stage companies.
  • Strong business intuition and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • A passion for entrepreneurship and ability to build rapport with founders and entrepreneurs.
  • Experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments, and other corporate transactions.
  • Real estate transactions and leases (ideally) are beneficial.
  • Ability to develop solutions rather than just identify problems.
