This role is situated within our Corporate office and is pivotal in overseeing the planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical functions for various Communities within our organization. The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Regional Operations Director, assisting Community leadership in comprehending actual financial outcomes against the Plan, while delivering analyses and insights that empower communities to proactively achieve their targeted objectives.

In addition, this position entails partnering with each Community's Executive Director to facilitate the preparation and coordination of the monthly forecast and the Annual Operating Plan across the Community. Furthermore, the role encompasses the preparation of ad-hoc analyses and value-added modeling that will support leadership in making informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist communities in understanding their actual financial performance relative to the plan/forecast, providing analyses and tools to help them proactively meet their goals.
  • Engage regularly with Community, Regional Operations, and Central Office FP&A leadership to review financial performance and anticipated trends.
  • Play a crucial role in the annual planning process by collaborating with the Executive Director to coordinate the Operating Plan for each assigned community, which includes facilitating campus projections, coordinating central office assumptions, and supporting community leadership in updating departmental budgets.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly results through the Community Monthly Reporting Package and evaluate community-specific and department-specific performance drivers in conjunction with the Controllership team.
  • Support requests for analyzing the financial implications of business initiatives such as pricing strategies, capacity adjustments, changes in levels of care, or impacts from new construction.
  • Participate in monthly operational discussions, providing insights into financial areas such as cash flow, net operating margin, and revenue & expense forecasts.
  • Prepare presentations and engage in quarterly Financial Advisory Meetings with stakeholders.
  • Review and assess community forecasts/projections, keeping FP&A leadership informed about expected outcomes.
  • Assist FP&A leadership in the Integrated Strategic Plan (ISP) process by offering forecast projections for census, revenue, and expense assumptions, along with insights on business trends.

Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or CPA is advantageous.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, Accounting, or a similar field.
  • Experience in Health Care, Senior Living, or a related sector is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in financial planning and/or accounting with robust analytical capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and independent, demonstrating a high degree of learning agility and comfort in collaborating with senior leaders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various organizational levels, showcasing a positive attitude and customer-focused approach.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial professionals.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a proven track record of producing consistently accurate work while being able to assess the reasonableness of outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
  • Demonstrated experience and aptitude for working with financial systems, including Microsoft Excel, Financial Planning applications, and General Ledger.
