Mechanic - Fleet Maintenance Specialist

Join the City of Kenosha's Public Works Department as a skilled Mechanic in the Fleet Maintenance Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in top working condition.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment, including hydraulic systems and air conditioning units.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend their lifespan.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and excavators.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and repaired.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in automotive or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Valid CDL with air brake endorsement required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
