Position: Application Penetration Tester

We are looking for a proficient Application Penetration Tester to contribute to our client's security initiatives in a long-term contract role. This position entails executing practical application penetration assessments, pinpointing security weaknesses, and collaborating with development teams to address security concerns. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of complex application security challenges and experience with a variety of security assessment tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute hands-on application penetration testing with a focus on detecting and exploiting security vulnerabilities.
  • Exhibit comprehensive understanding of OWASP Top 10 and intricate application security challenges, including Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) and Domain Takeover.
  • Effectively communicate security risks to development teams and offer recommendations for remediation strategies.
  • Employ Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and Interactive Application Security Testing (IAST) tools to uncover and evaluate security issues.
  • Work alongside development teams to integrate security best practices and ensure secure coding processes.
  • Remain informed about the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and testing methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in application penetration testing.
  • In-depth knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and advanced application security topics.
  • Familiarity with SAST, DAST, and IAST tools.
  • AWS experience is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications such as GWAPT, PortSwigger Academy, or OSWE are highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills with the capability to convey security risks and remediation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Practical experience with cloud security, particularly in AWS.
  • Advanced expertise in application security and testing methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to adopt an attacker’s perspective.
