Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Barback to support our bartenders in providing exceptional service to our guests. As a Barback, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bar area, maintaining a clean and well-stocked environment, and assisting bartenders with drink preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist bartenders with drink preparation, including pouring, mixing, and garnishing drinks
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
  • Restock liquor, syrups, glasses, and other necessary items before and during service hours
  • Prepare garnishes, refill ice wells, and change beer kegs as needed
  • Clean up spills, remove glassware, and organize bar top and back bar counter space
  • Keep the bar area neat, tidy, and clean, adhering to company standards
  • Handle urgent situations, such as cleaning up broken glassware
  • Assist bartenders by removing used or unnecessary items from guests at the bar top
  • Bussing the bar top; clean, sanitize, and reset bar top after each guest
  • Work effectively in a team environment, providing excellent customer service and supporting colleagues as needed
Requirements
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism
  • Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in an oral and written format
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly
  • California food handlers card required
  • Basic reading and writing skills
  • Multi-task oriented
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more years of full-service restaurant experience
Work Environment

The team member is frequently required to walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The team member frequently carries trays and racks up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts and carries tubs, cases, and kegs weighing up to 75 pounds. The team member must frequently communicate with guests and coworkers. The team member is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
