Position Objective:

This role is responsible for assisting in the assessment, selection, and application of standard engineering methodologies, procedures, and criteria. The focus is on making minor adaptations and modifications to power plant system components to enhance reliability, safety, and performance, while also aiding in the monitoring of water chemistry. The work assignments are diverse and moderately challenging, requiring creativity and innovative thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering analyses aimed at enhancing plant performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Assist in gathering equipment performance metrics and documenting vibration data.
  • Contribute to the balancing of rotating machinery.
  • Participate in maintenance planning and inventory management tasks.
  • During unit outages, aid in the inspection of plant equipment/systems and the coordination of necessary repairs.
  • Help input maintenance and outage repair information for all plant equipment into the work management and documentation systems.
  • Oversee water chemistry for water systems.
  • Update and maintain the drawing database by documenting drawing modifications.
  • Assist with mechanical engineering tasks at associated generation stations.
  • Compile generation performance reports.
  • Support compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited mechanical engineering program.
  • Proficient in technical writing and familiar with spreadsheet and database software.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Resume submission is required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

This position involves frequent sitting and the ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds, with occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and crawling. The role may require lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds and working at heights, necessitating the use of safety equipment. Good dexterity, hand coordination, hearing, and vision are essential. The incumbent may work in confined spaces and be exposed to various environmental conditions.
