About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. As a Medical Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in developing and producing radiation oncology treatment plans that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Radiation Therapists to develop treatment plans that meet the physician's prescription and intent.
  • Utilize computerized and manual treatment planning tools to create accurate and effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and assist in the teaching of medical residents, physics residents, and therapy students.
  • Perform radiation dosimetry functions, including treatment consultation, imaging, image fusions, and normal tissue and organ at risk contouring.
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry or a related field.
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) or Candidate may also have graduated from an approved Medical Dosimetry Program through the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists AAMD and have obtained MDCB board eligible status.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

This position requires working with computers, typing, reading, and writing. You will also be required to lift, move, and load 20 to 30 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials, noise levels, and noxious odors.
