Position Overview
Support licensed nursing staff in delivering patient care within designated areas. Aid patients with personal hygiene and daily living activities, ensure comfort, assist in patient transfers, and monitor vital signs. This role is on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with feeding, oral hygiene, nail care, and basic personal cleanliness.
- Helping with bathing, dressing, and restroom assistance for patients.
- Monitoring vital signs, responding to call lights, and repositioning bedridden patients.
- Changing linens, managing laundry, and performing light cleaning tasks.
- Communicating essential information, facilitating recreational activities, and providing post-mortem care.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team and adhering to emergency protocols.
- Executing additional tasks as assigned.
Additional Duties
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
- Maintaining punctuality and effective communication.
- Participating in meetings and training sessions, ensuring safety in therapeutic practices.
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in Oklahoma, with BLS certification.
- Exhibits initiative, teamwork, and sound professional judgment.
Education and Experience
- Ability to operate complex medical equipment, communicate effectively, and uphold clinical competence.
- Preferred educational qualifications at the time of hire, with prior hospital experience being advantageous.
Licensure and Certification
- Valid Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in Oklahoma, along with BLS certification.
- Submission of required licenses and certifications upon hiring.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret information.
- Mathematical aptitude, reasoning skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrates active listening, integrity, respect, and honesty in patient interactions.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Employees must fulfill the physical demands of the role. While performing duties, employees are required to communicate verbally, utilize their hands, stand, walk, and occasionally lift objects. Specific vision capabilities are necessary. The work environment may have moderate noise levels, and some hazards could be present. Travel may be necessary.
