We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Monmouth Retina Consultants. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting our ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services.

• Facilitate Patient Flow: Assist in preparing patients for exams, verifying medical and vision insurance, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
• Assist Ophthalmologists: Assist ophthalmologists in preliminary testing, dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor, and topography.
• Record Patient Information: Record patient medical history, current medications, and confirm the purpose of visit in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave.
• Comply with Company Policies: Comply with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Experience: One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certifications: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is preferred.
• Skills: Reliable transportation, ability to work weekends, and desire to gain industry knowledge and training.

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
