Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Computed Tomography (CT) technologist to join our team at Duke Health. As a CT technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT scanners, performing exams, and collaborating with radiologists to provide high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Operate CT scanners and power injectors in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  2. Position patients for CT scans using patient positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
  3. Perform exams accurately per established protocols, policy, and patient safety standards.
  4. Collaborate with radiologists to perform imaging procedures, including starting IVs and administering contrast.
  5. Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and arrange processed images in sequence of exposure.
  6. Organize patient schedules and assist with administrative tasks.
  7. Record charges and supplies in electronic health records.
  8. Supervise the preparation and distribution of oral contrast for patients undergoing CT scans.
  9. Preserve precise patient records.
  10. Offer guidance and instruction to novice CT technologists and students.
  11. Manage the scheduling of patients and the smooth movement of individuals through the facility.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree or completion of a program that fulfills eligibility criteria for registration/certification and currently holds the necessary certification or registration. Certification in one of the following areas is mandatory: Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), or CNMT. Additionally, ARRT registration in Computed Tomography (CT) is required within 18 months of employment.
