About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our centralized Legal Department in Denver. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert advice on real estate transactions, contracting issues, due diligence matters, development issues, title, and customer concerns.

Responsibilities
  • Review, negotiate, and draft real estate contracts and related agreements for the acquisition of raw land, partially developed land, and finished platted lots.
  • Conduct due diligence and close land acquisitions, including working with paralegals and title companies to prepare and review closing documents and title work.
  • Perform legal analysis of title issues, bonding and development matters, community facilities districts, homeowner associations, and water availability.
  • Interact with management to discuss and manage risks with respect to the purchase and development of real estate.
  • Provide guidance to Richmond division personnel on company land transaction policies and procedures and other risk management processes.
  • Assist in the area of leasing.
Requirements
  • 5+ years as a practicing lawyer with an emphasis on real estate.
  • Some homebuilding experience preferred.
  • J.D. or LLM from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Colorado, or another state with single client admission in Colorado.
