Job Summary:

As a Radiation Therapist at Penn State Health, you will play a critical role in administering accurate ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Oncology team to ensure accurate and safe treatment delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest radiation therapy techniques and technologies.


Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • ARRT certification or ability to obtain ARRT certification within three (3) months of hire required.
  • BLS Certification required.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aria 13.6 or greater preferred.
  • Varian Equipment including proficiency on TrueBeam preferred.
  • CT Simulation experience preferred.
  • Brachytherapy experience preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience post ARRT certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in an approved program of radiologic technology or health care field preferred.
