Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and consolidate financial statements while providing comprehensive financial analysis on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Investigate accounting issues to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee all facets of the general ledger, including managing journal entries and invoices, and reconciling accounts for various reporting periods.
  • Audit and Tax Coordination: Act as a liaison with external auditors and tax professionals, participating in the preparation of annual audits and tax returns.
  • Internal Controls Development: Assist in the creation of internal controls and policies to adhere to regulations and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to provide reliable data and analyses that are crucial for strategic business decisions.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Experience: 12+ years in accounting, including:
  • 5+ years in Government services contracting.
  • 5+ years utilizing Deltek Costpoint.
  • 5+ years in general ledger management and monthly closing processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analytical, technological, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: MBA with 10+ years of accounting experience.
  • Certifications: CPA.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting requiring frequent use of computers and phones, along with periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • May involve light lifting, typically under 20 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Apogee offers two medical plans, including a high deductible health plan with a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, along with dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, paid time off, and various leave options.
  • The salary range for this position is $113,000 to $138,660, with consideration given to various factors such as responsibilities, experience, education, and certification requirements.
