Economist Position

The Economics Department at UMass Amherst invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level, starting September 1, 2025. We welcome candidates from diverse fields, including theory and applied economics, who can address pressing social and economic challenges.

• Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in top-tier economics journals
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, including theory and applied fields
• Contribute to departmental service and mentorship of students

• Ph.D. in Economics or a related field by the start date
• Strong research and teaching record, with a focus on economic theory and applied economics
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and research
