Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant Role

Cortica is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join its multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities
  • Promote independence in daily living activities through problem-solving, suggesting adaptations, and observing students.
  • Observe, problem-solve, and suggest positioning techniques to enhance educational participation and maximize function.
  • Consult and assist staff through gathering and sharing information at team meetings.
  • Utilize task analysis to suggest techniques to the team regarding feeding, daily living activities, etc.
  • Implement individualized/small group therapeutic programs prescribed by occupational therapists based on goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to share information and expertise, planning and implementing effective client programs.
  • Assist occupational therapists in determining the extent to which goals and objectives are being met by collecting and maintaining data on individual client goals.
  • Assist therapists in formulating new goals based on data analysis.
Requirements
  • A current California Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
  • 1-year of pediatric or autism experience.
  • Occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
  • Skilled in using software and systems, including electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information.

The base pay range for this opening is $33.80 - $42.26, with compensation adjusted according to skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location.
