Job Description

The FSQA Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards at Foster Farms. This position oversees the implementation, verification, and validation of Food Safety programs, including HACCP/SSOP Plans, to guarantee the safety, legality, and quality of products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Compliance: Function as the primary FSQA leader, managing and enforcing the implementation, verification, and validation of Food Safety programs to ensure adherence to GFSI and Company internal audit standards.
  • Regulatory Management: Manage the regulatory relationship with local USDA/FSIS/AMS and other regulatory agencies, retaining products that do not conform to customer requirements, finished product specifications, or legal requirements.
  • Team Management: Oversee all team members at the processing facility to ensure competence in maintaining food safety and quality compliance, including the design, coordination, and execution of required training.
  • Investigations and Root Cause Analysis: Lead pathogen testing root cause investigations in partnership with Operations management to address and correct processing, sanitation, and maintenance-related deficiencies that might impact finished product safety, quality, or regulatory compliance.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis: Manage and improve the FSQA data reporting systems, communicating trends and root-cause analyses to Corporate management for noncompliance resolution and process improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively lead team projects to drive continuous improvement in product safety and quality, including commercialization projects organized by R&D for new products.
  • Key Performance Indicators: Actively manage all Company and FSQA Key Performance Indicators to ensure achievement of Corporate FSQA objectives.
