Laboratory Animal Science Specialist

Job Summary:

The Stellar Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Animal Science Specialist to join our team at the Groveland Institute for Laboratory Animal Science and Central Animal Laboratory. As a Laboratory Animal Science Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our research and teaching activities by providing expertise in laboratory animal care and management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute the pathological-histological laboratory, including histological sample processing and preparation of histological sections.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate independently with scientists.
• Manage consumables, including material orders, inventory management, and preparation of invoices.
• Maintain and care for technical equipment for histological sample processing.
• Develop and maintain laboratory-specific quality management documents.
• Supervise trainees (biology laboratory technicians) and participate in the further education of veterinarians and scientists.

Requirements:

• Strong background in laboratory animal science and histology.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems.
