The Duke University Department of Pediatrics is seeking an exceptional researcher to join the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. This faculty position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge vaccine research and clinical trials in the highly esteemed Duke Human Vaccine Institute.

As an Assistant Professor level faculty member, you will work closely with Dr. Emmanuel 'Chip' Walter, associate director of the Duke Vaccine and Trials Unit (DVTU), to advance innovative vaccine development and implementation. Your primary focus will be on working within the DVTU unit, which boasts a rich history of NIH-, CDC- and industry-sponsored trials. Approximately 20% of your time will be dedicated to clinical work, while 80% will be allocated for independent research funding establishment within two years.

Key responsibilities include serving as a co-investigator for existing vaccine clinical trials, securing independent research funding, and establishing a reputation as a leading expert in pediatric infectious diseases. To succeed in this role, you must possess an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric infectious diseases, and have experience in vaccine clinical trials.
