Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee our company's day-to-day accounting operations. As a private equity-backed company, we operate in the US and internationally and need a Senior Accountant who is knowledgeable about US GAAP and IFRS standards and can navigate the complexities of a rapidly growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and analysis
  • Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns and quarterly payroll tax returns
  • Assist with annual budget preparation and forecasting
  • Coordinate annual external audits and manage relationships with auditors
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide guidance and support to the accounting team and other departments on accounting-related matters
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting role
  • Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and IFRS standards
  • Experience in the construction industry and with job costing preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
