Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health conditions, either independently or as part of a collaborative healthcare team. This role emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention, including the ability to order, conduct, or interpret diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory tests and imaging studies. The practitioner may also prescribe medications as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prescribe medications based on individual patient characteristics, including age and gender.
- Ensure accurate and complete billing practices.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as complete blood counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and x-rays.
- Analyze patient histories, symptoms, and diagnostic information to formulate appropriate diagnoses.
- Develop treatment plans grounded in scientific evidence, care standards, and professional guidelines.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and foster positive patient relationships.
- Diagnose and manage acute healthcare issues such as infections and injuries.
- Provide counseling on medication regimens, including potential side effects and interactions.
- Advise on lifestyle modifications to mitigate health risks.
- Monitor and respond to adverse drug reactions, particularly in vulnerable populations.
- Educate patients on self-management strategies for chronic conditions.
- Maintain comprehensive records of patient care and treatment plans.
- Conduct routine physical examinations and manage primary care conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers for complex or emergency cases.
- Stay informed on nursing developments through literature and professional organizations.
- Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with a focus on safety and efficacy.
- Schedule follow-up appointments to assess patient progress.
- Coordinate patient care and support staff activities.
- Maintain knowledge of state regulations regarding nurse practitioner practice.
- Perform primary care procedures such as suturing and administering immunizations.
- Assist patients in accessing healthcare resources.

Qualifications:
- Education: Must possess a valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in a relevant clinical setting.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications: DEA, DPS, BLS, and DOT Certification required.
- Other Requirements: Annual TB test and HIPAA training.
Physical Requirements:
