Assist in preparing residents' rooms for their arrival, ensuring that beds are made, name tags are displayed, and admission kits are ready. Responsibilities also include:
- Welcoming residents and guiding them to their rooms, introducing them to roommates and staff as appropriate.
- Inventorying and labeling residents' personal belongings and assisting with the storage of clothing.
- Facilitating the packing of personal items during transfers or discharges.
- Transporting residents to new accommodations or designated areas as needed.
Health Monitoring
Participate in nursing reports and adhere to established protocols regarding exposure to blood and body fluids. Duties include:
- Making beds and adjusting linens as requested.
- Measuring and documenting vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Monitoring residents who may require assistance in calling for help.
- Responding promptly to resident calls and ensuring their personal care needs are met.
Nutritional Support
Assist residents with meal arrangements, including:
- Informing residents with visual impairments about their food options.
- Recording food and fluid intake and reporting any changes in eating habits to nursing staff.
- Maintaining cleanliness and accessibility of residents' water pitchers.
- Providing post-meal care, including cleaning and assisting residents as necessary.
Collaboration and Compliance
Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure the delivery of quality nursing services. Responsibilities include:
- Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or hazardous materials in accordance with facility policies.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding all resident care information.
- Reporting any allegations of resident abuse or property misappropriation.
- Respecting residents' treatment refusal requests and informing supervisors accordingly.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: A minimum of an 8th-grade education is required. Candidates should possess:
- Strong reading and writing skills for interpreting documents and composing reports.
- Mathematical skills for practical applications.
- Problem-solving abilities to navigate diverse situations.
Physical Demands
