Position Overview
The Nursing Unit Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of resident care through effective coordination and adherence to established guidelines and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of designated sections of the MDS on assigned units.
- Oversee the completion of the MDS by other disciplines and report any non-compliance to the Director.
- Facilitate timely signing of all necessary documentation and coordinate interdisciplinary meetings.
- Attend scheduled MDS/IDC meetings on assigned units or as needed.
- Participate in evaluations to determine the need for significant changes and implement necessary assessments.
- Manage scheduling and completion of discharge assessments and related documentation.
- Assist in determining Medicare A Nursing skill upon admission and notify relevant teams when skill ends.
- Support the completion of required documentation and ensure timely updates to care plans.
- Notify teams of any changes to assessment dates.
- Provide information for managed care updates and audits as requested.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse License in Pennsylvania.
- 1-2 years of experience in Long-Term Care.
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator is preferred.
