As an Imaging Support Specialist, you will be expected to:
1. Ensure patient safety and comfort by explaining procedures and providing reassurance throughout the process.
2. Prepare patients for examinations by assisting with gown changes, checking for allergies, obtaining vital signs, explaining necessary paperwork, and escorting patients to the appropriate examination area.
3. Facilitate patient workflows by assisting with scheduling and communication with patients. Monitor the workflow in the procedure room and keep patients, families, and physicians informed of any delays.4. Assist during procedures, including biopsies, transport specimens to pathology, and maintain inventory by ordering and stocking supplies as necessary.
5. Communicate effectively with nursing units, emergency departments, and physician offices regarding orders.6. Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
7. Maintain a thorough understanding of imaging principles and radiation safety requirements, promptly reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
8. Ensure cleanliness of rooms and equipment to uphold a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required.
- One (1) year of clinical and computer experience in a medical setting, preferred.
- EMT license, Phlebotomist Certification, or Certified Nursing Assistant Certification, preferred.
Physical Demands:
Includes hearing, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.
