The Industrial Compressor Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of plant machinery and equipment. This role encompasses a variety of maintenance tasks aimed at diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining compressors and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on piston, rotary screw, and oil-free compressors.
- Change oil, oil filters, air filters, belts, and solenoids as part of preventative measures.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems effectively.
- Replace pressure switches, gauges, valves, and air regulators as needed.
- Maintain and repair electrical systems and sensors.
- Install and service refrigerated or desiccant air dryers, after coolers, and air tanks.
- Repair compressor pumps, vacuum pumps, and motors, ensuring safe rigging and handling of equipment.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting industrial mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with compressed air systems and centrifugal technologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of service, diagnosis, and startup procedures for rotary and centrifugal air compressors, including associated systems.
Additional Duties:
- Operate mobile equipment for material handling, ensuring daily maintenance is performed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements at all times.
- Assist in training and mentoring coworkers as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform various physical tasks including lifting up to 70 lbs, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Capability to work in extreme temperatures and elevated areas.
This position is essential for maintaining the operational efficiency of our industrial facilities and ensuring safety and reliability in our processes.
