Job Description:

ECS Federal is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in Morgantown, WV. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our information systems and data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure problem resolution and customer satisfaction for individual task orders.
  • Perform technical and administrative efforts for tasks, including review of work products for correctness, compliance with industry-accepted standards, federal government legislative and regulatory requirements, and user standards specified in task orders.
  • Develop requirements of IT products/services (including specifications, feasibility studies, requirement analysis, etc.) from inception to conclusion on simple to complex projects.
Leadership and Management:
  • Provide leadership, management, and supervisory IA skills identified in DOE Directives.
  • Lead and direct team personnel to quickly, efficiently, and effectively solve complex IA problems.
  • Identify IA requirements as part of the IT acquisition development process and assist in the formulation of IA/IT budgets.
Security and Compliance:
  • Plan, integrate, and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Supervise the assessment and implementation of identified computer and network environment fixes, such as system patches and fixes associated with specific technical vulnerabilities as part of the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program.
  • Guide the implementation of appropriate operational structures and processes to ensure an effective IA security program, including boundary defense, incident detection and response.
Analysis and Evaluation:
  • Evaluate functional operation and performance in light of test results and make recommendations regarding C&A.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IA security procedures and safeguards.
  • Evaluate security violations to determine necessary initial and long-term corrective action.
Communication and Collaboration:
  • Develop IA-related customer support policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Design perimeter defense systems, including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, grid sensors, etc.
  • Enhance rule sets to detect or block sources of malicious traffic and establish a protective net of layered defenses to prevent, detect, and eradicate threats.
Education and Experience:

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in IA or a related field. A master's degree and/or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
