Position Overview:
Gunnison Tree Services is seeking a dedicated Mechanic with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the landscape maintenance sector. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diesel mechanics, particularly with landscape trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting for a fleet of bucket trucks and landscape vehicles (both diesel and gas).
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on chippers, bobcat machines, stump grinders, and other essential landscape equipment.
  • Utilize knowledge of operating landscape machinery, including chip trucks and bucket trucks.
  • Demonstrate solid experience with heavy equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators.
  • Engage in hydraulic and electrical repairs, with welding and fabrication skills considered a plus.
Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • CDL is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Capable of working in various weather conditions while completing tasks.
  • Proficient in operating and servicing all required tools and equipment.
  • Possession of a basic set of hand tools.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy weights, frequently up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Skills in gripping, climbing, balancing, pulling, and pushing.
