We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing, ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory testing and analysis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with established protocols.
- Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the supervisor, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Complete all required records and documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Correlate and interpret patient results, using good judgment and independent thinking to ensure accurate diagnoses.
- Review pending logs and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief.
- Perform quality control procedures, handling problem and critical laboratory specimens and test results.
- A 2-year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology is required; a 4-year/Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process.
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
