We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of Waxahachie, TX. As a key member of our Parks and Recreation department, you will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks related to our city parks, cemetery, and sports complex.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, weed eating, and pruning to ensure the upkeep of our parks and facilities.
- Operate various equipment such as mowers, edgers, and tillers to complete assigned tasks.
- Assist with special events and activities by setting up, cleaning, and providing general support.
- Respond to public inquiries and provide information on park rules and regulations.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance on assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Show cemetery plots to potential customers and provide general information on cemetery services.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of general maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid State driver's license required.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
This position requires working in a field environment with exposure to inclement weather conditions, noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, and gases. The employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
