Position Overview:
As a Senior Embryologist at Prelude Fertility, you will operate under the guidance of the Laboratory Supervisor or Director, executing sophisticated clinical and research functions independently within the embryology laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
Your role will involve direct interaction with physicians, utilizing your judgment to make informed decisions regarding laboratory protocols. You will also collaborate with the research and andrology segments of the IVF Program to enhance laboratory technologies.

This position includes:

  • Providing daily oversight and mentorship to embryologists, focusing on quality outcomes and exceptional patient experiences.
  • Working closely with the Laboratory Director, Supervisor, and interdisciplinary team members.

Essential Duties:
Demonstrate independent proficiency in performing a comprehensive range of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) laboratory procedures, including:

  • Preparation of serum/media with precision and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Sperm preparation for ICSI and conventional insemination.
  • Execution of egg retrievals and cumulus cell removal.
  • Conducting both conventional and ICSI inseminations, achieving established fertilization percentage goals.
  • Completing fertilization assessments for both conventional insemination and ICSI.
  • Grading embryos to select candidates for transfer, in alignment with Lab Director goals.
  • Performing embryo warming and transfers, monitored by pregnancy rates per transfer.
  • Conducting egg and embryo vitrification with careful attention to detail, with proficiency measured by recovery and survival rates.
  • Executing advanced IVF procedures, including ICSI, embryo biopsy, tubing, oocyte vitrification, and warming.
  • Engaging in daily quality control activities and ensuring accurate documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean and functional laboratory environment, including tank maintenance, equipment cleaning, and inventory management. Adhere to regulations and standards for human ART in the U.S., following company policies and the guidelines set by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).

Collaborate with the Lab Director and team to identify evolving best practices and areas for improvement in laboratory operations. Follow detailed standard operating procedures and comply with safety policies, ensuring quality standards and numerical goals are met.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Reproductive Biology, or Animal Science.
  • Compliance with the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for Biology and/or Chemistry hours.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IVF laboratory, with a preference for candidates who have completed at least 30 supervised procedures and 20 independent procedures.
