Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pulmonary Function Therapist to join our team at Highmark Health. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic testing, pulmonary rehabilitation, and assisting with bronchoscopies for referred patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas punctures, bronchoscopy assistance, oximetry, and home oxygen evaluations, exercise and stress testing, and pre-surgical evaluations to ensure accurate patient test results.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation according to established clinical practice guidelines, promoting optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain proper calibration, quality control, and analysis of all pulmonary diagnostic and rehabilitation equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ensure proper infection prevention when cleaning reusable patient equipment, upholding the highest standards of patient safety.
  • Perform all billing documentation and maintain departmental records according to established policies and procedures.
  • Organize and prioritize workload and scheduling of patient testing in an efficient and effective manner, optimizing productivity and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist required.
  • Valid PA respiratory therapy license required.
  • Current BCLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified and/or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist preferred.
  • Two (2) years of experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine preferred.
  • Experience with pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assistance, and pulmonary rehabilitation preferred.
