What qualities are we seeking in our Business Analyst?

Russell Tobin & Associates is in search of a Business Analyst to support an investment and insurance organization.

Employment Type: Contract/Hybrid

Location: Remote

Compensation: $45-$50/hr, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and facilitate requirement workshops to gather and document new business needs.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions and collaborate with Product Owners and end users to elicit, document, and validate requirements.
  • Support developers and testers by prioritizing user stories and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business analysis across diverse and complex scenarios.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the insurance sector is essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven facilitation skills with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of working in a highly integrated environment.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate options and propose solutions that consider the business as a whole.
  • Experience with data standards and documentation for data mapping and process flows.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and IT teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lead collaborative working sessions that achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience interacting with all organizational levels, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • Skilled in developing estimates and prioritizing tasks.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including prioritizing and updating features and stories.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a multi-source offshore delivery center and shared services environment is advantageous.
  • Experience as part of a scrum team is required; familiarity with Scaled Agile framework is preferred.
