Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, assisting with interventional and surgical procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, vascular stenting, and embolization.
  • Assist with interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending and resident physicians.
  • Monitor patients and alert staff to life-threatening changes in patient status.
  • Apply the defibrillator and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
  • Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality.
  • Assist with emergency procedures, responding quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months (unless department leader has determined it is not required).
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in interventional radiology or a related field.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
