Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac ICU at Baylor Scott & White Health, you will be responsible for overseeing patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your key responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans, adjusting as needed to reach desired outcomes
- Build relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort and staying professional
- Help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices
- Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan, delegate tasks carefully, and follow up promptly
- A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area
- Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects
- Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights
- Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing
- Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking
- Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email
- Grad of an Accredited Program
- Specialized field of study should be nursing
- A current and valid nursing license
- BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role
- Candidates MUST have minimum of 1-year recent, full time ICU RN experience
- Cardiac ICU and/or Cardiovascular ICU/CVICU specific RN experience preferred
